The police seized drug traffickers who transported narcotics from Mandalay to Sagaing, confiscating heroin worth 920 million kyats, weighing over 24.35 kilogrammes, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
The seizure occurred at around 8 pm on 10 June near Tagaung Ward in Sagaing Township. A combined task force intercepted a Pajero heading to Kalay from Mandalay, driven by Kyaw Swar Lin, and discovered 6.93 kilogrammes of heroin powder.

China on Saturday began constructing two advanced telescopes at the Lenghu Astronomical Observation Base in Qinghai Province, including a groundbreaking 4.2-meter dedicated astrometric telescope for precise solar system measurements.
The telescope, developed by the Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, represents China’s first single-mirror astronomical telescope with an aperture exceeding 4 meters.

Two Air Self-Defense Force aircraft have left for Djibouti to prepare for a possible evacuation of Japanese nationals in Israel and Iran. The C-2 transport planes left the Miho Air Base in Tottori Prefecture, western Japan, on Saturday. Pakistan has announced it will recommend US President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for mediating a ceasefire after the latest round of fighting between the country and India.
In a statement released on Saturday, Islamabad said Trump demonstrated "stellar statesmanship" and "deescalated a rapidly deteriorating situation." It also said Trump ultimately secured a ceasefire and averted "a broader conflict between the two nuclear states that would have had catastrophic consequences for millions of people."
