Oyster damaged by tsunami

Oyster farmers in Miyagi Prefecture, northeastern Japan, have begun retrieving aquaculture rafts damaged or carried away by a tsunami triggered by a powerful quake in Russia on Wednesday.

Three oyster farming businesses were deploying a total of about 130 rafts to raise oysters in waters between the mainland coast and Kesennuma Oshima Island in Kesennuma City.  But the tsunami caused by the quake that hit Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula damaged or swept away many of the rafts.

NASA's acting administrator meets with Russian space chief

The interim administrator of NASA, Sean Duffy, met with the head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov, at an unknown location in the United States. Following the meeting, Bakanov said that he had agreed with his NASA counterpart to extend the International Space Station's (ISS) operation until 2028.

 Bakanov was also due to meet the NASA's Crew-11 mission team, including Russian cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, ahead of the launch aboard the SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft.

India announces eight new consular application centers in US

India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Kwatra on Thursday, announced the opening of eight new Indian Consular Application Centers across the United States, aimed at expanding access to consular services for the Indian diaspora.

All the Indian consular application centers will begin from Friday and will now be open on Saturdays as well. Ambassador Kwatra also informed that India would also be opening another Indian Counselor Application Centre in Los Angeles very soon.
