Under the National Defence and Security Council’s Order No.1/2025, the council has declared the State of Emergency in certain townships for ending armed insurgency, and ensuring regional stability and rule of law.
The National Defence and Security Council issued Martial Law Order No.2/2025 as effective as law on Thursday.
In an effort to restore normalcy with administration mechanism, community peace and rule of law in the townships under the State of Emergency, martial order was declared under Section 413 (b) of the constitution, and entrusted the administrative and judiciary duties of those townships to the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
In order to accelerate the security measures to safeguard regional peace and stability and rule of law, the National Defence and Security Council issued an Order No 1/2025 as effective as law, in accordance with Section 412 (a) of the Constitution on Thursday.
The National Defence and Security Council held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday. Pro-Tem President (Duty) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the meeting and made a speech, outlining the government’s activities since assuming State duties, based on established objectives and a defined roadmap.
