The second time monsoon tree planning event of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on July 24th.

Union Minister Khun Thant Zaw Htoo attended the event together with the Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung and many other concerned officials. First, the Union Minister and the Deputy Minister planted the saplings at the designated places followed by planting of saplings by concerned officials and staff at their respective areas.

The 98th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) was held at the Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon in the evening on July 24.

Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) General Kyaw Swar Lin and his wife attended the event. Upon their arrival, General Kyaw Swar Lin and his delegation were warmly welcomed by Ms. Ma Jia, Ambassador of China to Myanmar, Senior Colonel Qu Zhe, Chinese Military Attaché to Myanmar, his wife, and other officials.

The 98th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) was held at the Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon in the evening on July 24.

Upon their arrival, General Kyaw Swar Lin and his delegation were warmly welcomed by Ms. Ma Jia, Ambassador of China to Myanmar, Senior Colonel Qu Zhe, Chinese Military Attaché to Myanmar, his wife, and other officials.

They then toured and observed the documentary photos displayed in the hall. The 98th Anniversary ceremony for the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army began with the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the People's Republic of China, followed by the screening of a documentary video about the PLA.

Afterward, Senior Colonel Qu Zhe, Chinese Military Attaché to Myanmar, delivered a welcoming speech. Subsequently, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) General Kyaw Swar Lin and his wife, the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, and the Chinese Military Attaché and his wife, jointly cut the 98th Anniversary commemorative cake for the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and took a group photo to mark the occasion.

Following this, the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar and the Chinese Military Attaché hosted a gala dinner for all attendees. It is reported that the event was attended by Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) General Kyaw Swar Lin and his wife, high-ranking military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and his wife, the Commander of Yangon Command, region government ministers, ambassadors from foreign embassies in Yangon, chargés d'affaires, military attachés, and invited guests.

Education and Healthcare: Education and healthcare services continued in Naungcho

School enrolment has begun at Basic Education High School No 1 in Naungcho northern Shan State, as of 22 July, in efforts to swiftly reopen basic education schools that were closed for nearly a year due to acts of terrorism.

On the first day alone, 30 students registered, and as of today, a total of 456 students have been enrolled. To ensure smooth and systematic enrollment, Tatmadaw members teachers, educational staff, and local parents have cooperated closely.

School enrolment has begun at Basic Education High School No 1 in Naungcho northern Shan State, as of 22 July, in efforts to swiftly reopen basic education schools that were closed for nearly a year due to acts of terrorism.

On the first day alone, 30 students registered, and as of today, a total of 456 students have been enrolled. To ensure smooth and systematic enrollment, Tatmadaw members teachers, educational staff, and local parents have cooperated closely.

To provide a secure and peaceful learning environment for students, Tatmadaw members have also undertaken mine clearance, security arrangements, and cleaning operations around the school premises.

On top of reopening education services, Tatmadaw and the Ministry of Health jointly opened a temporary clinic at the Myanan Tawwin Mingalar Hall to deliver health care services to ethnic residents who have returned to Naungcho. As of today, medical personnel have provided health care to 121 people.

Furthermore, efforts are being made to reopen Naungcho People’s Hospital promptly. Staff from relevant departments are currently clearing overgrown weeds around the hospital compound, dredging drains to improve water flow, and conducting sanitation activities.

The amended law is comprised of 13 Sections. The enactment of the Law was signed by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Appointment Orders: Mon State High Court Chief Justice and Judge appointed

The State Administration Council issued Order No.42/2025 on Wednesday, regarding the appointment of the Chief Justice.

According to Section 419 of the constitution, the council appointed Daw Htay Myint Aye as the Chief Justice of Mon State High Court. Likewise, Daw Khaing Khaing Myo was appointed as the judge of the Mon State High Court according to Order No.43/2025. The orders were signed by General Aung Lin Dwe, Secretary of the State Administration Council.

The meeting discussed the work implementation on electricity and energy and future plans as well as the feasibility studies for generation of electricity and exploration of oil and natural gas plots, implementation for renewable energy and sustainable development of electricity and energy sector.

The meeting also gave suggestions on the National Electricity Master Plan 2014 (JICA) and Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) 2021 in order to designate the Generation Mix.

Public Awareness Talk: Talk on Earthquake Preparedness Held in Myitkyina

Under the supervision of the Kachin State Government, members of the State Disaster Management Committee organized a public awareness talk on earthquake-related safety knowledge, including important facts the public should know, preventive measures, and preparedness strategies. The event took place at 9:00 a.m. on July 24 at the Convocation Hall of Myitkyina University and was attended by members of the public as well as students.

The ceremony was opened with remarks by Kachin State Chief Minister U Khat Htein Nan.

Under the supervision of the Kachin State Government, members of the State Disaster Management Committee organized a public awareness talk on earthquake-related safety knowledge, including important facts the public should know, preventive measures, and preparedness strategies. The event took place at 9:00 a.m. on July 24 at the Convocation Hall of Myitkyina University and was attended by members of the public as well as students.

Following the opening speech, a series of talks and presentations under various topics were delivered by Rector of Myitkyina University Dr. Aung Win, Director of the State Department of Disaster Management Daw Hla Kay Thi, official from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology U Naing Lin Htwe, Director of the State Fire Services Department U Than Zaw Oo. They discussed topics such as earthquake preparedness, dos and don’ts during and after an earthquake, and key points on participating in search and rescue operations.

After the presentations, government staff distributed earthquake awareness pamphlets published by the Kachin State Government to the attendees.

Later, the Chief Minister and his wife, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, members of the state government, and regional departmental officials visited displays showcasing advanced rescue equipment, interactive educational games related to natural disasters, and live demonstrations of firefighting and rescue tools by fire department personnel.

The event concluded with the Chief Minister awarding cash rewards to the firefighters who participated in the demonstrations.
