As part of the Monsoon Season Greening Campaign, the Ministry of State Administration Council Chairman's Office (3) held its 2025 Monsoon Season Tree Planting Ceremony at the Tax Appellate Tribunal Office in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on June 25.

Union Minister for the SAC Chairman's Office (3) U Maung Maung Tint, Deputy Minister U Htin Kyaw Thu, Chairman of the Tax Appellate Tribunal U Myint Oo, members of the Tax Appellate Tribunal, the Director-General, and other officers and staff attended the event.

During the tree planting ceremony, the Union Minister, Deputy Minister, Chairman and members of the Tax Appellate Tribunal, and staff planted 200 saplings of perennial and fruit trees at the designated areas to commemorate the 2025 Monsoon Season Tree Planting event. The Union Minister also toured the planting sites, observing the tree planting activities, and presented indoor plants as commemorative gifts to those who participated.

Colombian recyclers filled Bogota's iconic Plaza de Bolivar with plastic bottles, demanding better work conditions from the national government and city authorities. Bogota, home to 8 million people, lacks a public selective waste collection service, leaving nearly 26,000 recyclers to do the work.

The demonstration seekes to highlight the harsh realities faced by recyclers and calls on President Gustavo Petro's administration and local officials to take urgent action. "Many recyclers in Colombia work more than 15 hours a day recovering and sorting materials. Yet their earnings don't even reach the minimum wage," said, president of the National Recyclers Association.

Nearly 40,000 seafarers from Myanmar leave the country each year to serve on international vessels, and around 20,000 are officially certified to work abroad, according to Captain Soe Min Aung, President of the Myanmar Seafarers’ Federation (MSF). He remarked at the International Seafarers’ Day ceremony held yesterday morning at the National Museum in Dagon Township, Yangon.
“Since 2020, MSF has handled over 300 complaints related to workplace injuries and other issues. For those who are injured, we provide medical treatment, salary entitlements, and insurance benefits. We also address problems such as unpaid wages and difficulties in the workplace,” said Captain Soe Min Aung. “MSF is committed to supporting seafarers by addressing their concerns and helping to improve their quality of life”.

At the invitation of Mr Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko, President of Belarus and Rotating Chairman of the EAEU, a high-level Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing departed Myanmar yesterday morning by special plane to attend the 4th Europe-Asia Economic Forum (EEF 2025) in Minsk, and was warmly welcomed in the evening at Tolmachevo Airport in Novosibirsk by Governor Mr Travnikov Andrey Aleksandrovich and other officials.
The Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister and the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region held a friendly exchange of views on enhancing economic cooperation between Myanmar and the Novosibirsk Region of the Russian Federation, fostering ties with ASEAN countries, expanding air travel services, and developing the tourism sector.
Following the meeting, the State Administration Council Chairman and Prime Minister and the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region exchanged souvenirs.

Saint Laurent and Vuitton opened Paris Men's Fashion Week on Tuesday with collections tinged with retro influences, as the industry reels from the revolving door of creative directors and a diminished appetite for luxury goods.

Saint Laurent kicked things off with a playful, spring-summer 2026 collection mixing shorts with strong shoulder pads, and rolled-up darted trousers with loose trench coats nonchalantly tied at the waist. Shorts, evoking those worn by the label's founder, Yves Saint Laurent, in his youth, were paired with bright and loose long-sleeved shirts and finished off with oversized sunglasses.

The show marked Saint Laurent's official return to the fashion week fold after a two-and-a-half-year absence from the Paris men's fashion official calendar.

The Myanmar delegation, led by General Mya Tun Oo, Member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister, and Union Minister for Transport and Communications, returned to Myanmar on June 24 after attending the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025) held in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation, from June 18 to 21, 2025.

On the morning of June 18, the Myanmar delegation, led by the Deputy Prime Minister, held discussions with a delegation led by Mr. Maksim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. In the afternoon, they met with a delegation led by Mr. Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of Russia and Chairman of the Roscongress Investment Fund.

During these meetings, they exchanged views openly on the progress of ongoing activities based on the resolutions of the Russia-Myanmar Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, developments in Myanmar-Russia economic cooperation, and future collaboration initiatives.

During the forum, on the morning of June 19, Deputy Prime Minister, participated in a roundtable discussion on the expansion of new international transport corridors to promote Russian trade with Southeast Asian countries. He joined the international ministers and experts, including Mr. Igor Levitin, Advisor to the President of Russia on Transport and Communications.

Following the roundtable discussion, the Myanmar delegation continued discussions with a group led by Mr. Igor Levitin, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation on Transport and Infrastructure. They exchanged views on expanding Russia's new trade routes, developing Myanmar's transport infrastructure, and cooperating in other promising sectors.

In the afternoon, the Myanmar delegation met with a delegation led by Mr. Shatriov Sergey Vladimirovich, Member of the Supervisory Board of the Roscongress Investment Fund. They held open discussions on the progress of projects in cooperation with Myanmar and future undertakings by the Roscongress Investment Fund.

On the morning of June 20, the Myanmar delegation, attended the signing ceremony of the Agreement on Investment Promotion and Protection. This agreement was signed by Dr. Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, and Mr. Maksim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Center in St. Petersburg.

Following this, the Myanmar delegation met with Mr. Ivan Viktorovich Polyakov, Chairman of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council. They discussed economic cooperation between Russia and ASEAN countries, including promoting trade and investment between Russia and Myanmar, and other matters related to economic collaboration. On the afternoon of June 20, the Deputy Prime Minister, along with Union Ministers and high-ranking officials from various ministries, participated in the Plenary Session, the main event of the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

During this session, Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, delivered a speech and led the main discussions of the international economic forum. Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia; Mr. Paul Mashatile, Vice President of South Africa; Mr. Ding Xuexiang, Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China; and Mr.9 Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chief of the Royal Guard of Bahrain, also participated in the discussions.

During the forum, on the morning of June 18, Union Ministers Dr. Kan Zaw, U Min Naung, U Chit Swe, and U Tun Ohn attended the Second Joint Working Group Meeting on Cooperation between Myanmar and the Eurasian Economic Commission.

They held frank discussions on matters concerning further boosting trade and investment. Similarly, Union Ministers Dr. Kan Zaw and Dr. Thet Khaing Win met with relevant officials and organizations in their respective fields to discuss cooperation matters.

This year's 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was attended by over 21,800 participants, including heads of state, government officials from 144 countries worldwide, and over 1,000 speakers from 380 international economic organizations. A total of 1,073 economic agreements were signed during the forum. Myanmar delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications, General Mya Tun Oo, returned to Yangon by air on the morning of June 24, it’s leant.

Chairman of National Disaster Management Committee, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by Union Ministers, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, and council members, on June 24, inspected the ongoing reconstruction and repair work for staff housing damaged by the Mandalay earthquake, the Pyinmana No. (1) Myoma Market, and the Uttarathiri Dam.

First, the SAC Vice Chairman, and officials inspected the repair status and completion of Union Minister housing damaged by the earthquake in Zeyatheiddhi Ward, Zabuthiri Township. They coordinated with relevant officials to address any necessary requirements.

Next, the SAC Vice Chairman, and officials visited Building No. 3384 (classified as Orange Level) and Building No. 3383 (classified as Blue Level) in Nyanatheikdi Ward, Zabuthiri Township. They observed the ongoing repair work.

They also inspected the progress of clearing collapsed structures in Blocks A and B of the Pyinmana No. (1) Myoma Market. Additionally, they reviewed the repair efforts for the Uttarathiri Dam, located on Kyauk-O Creek, specifically addressing water leakage from its outlet pipe and damage to the earthen embankment. Following presentations by officials on the progress of these tasks, the SAC Vice Chairman provided necessary instructions.

The Committee on the Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community held its meeting yesterday afternoon via an online system at the conference hall of the Ministry 2 at the Office of the State Administration Council Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw.
Union Minister for Ministry 2 at the Office of the State Administration Council Chairman U Ko Ko Hlaing, who is also the Chairman of the Social Committee, addressed the meeting, stating that upcoming activities would focus on natural disaster risk management as a foundation for mobilizing and encouraging efforts to build resilient and strong communities. He noted that certain tasks must be coordinated at the Union level, led by regional and state authorities, with Union agencies supporting the implementation. Coordination with international and domestic civil society organizations is also essential.
He added that the international community had shown sympathy and a willingness to cooperate, and that such support, when combined with domestic contributions and social unity, would enable an effective response to natural disasters. He called on all stakeholders to work collectively to overcome such challenges.
Next, Deputy Minister U Myint Soe, who is the committee secretary, presented the committee’s objectives, duties and implementation plans.
Participants discussed preparedness measures to mobilise public strength according to levels of disaster risk, emergency response plans and public participation in reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts. They also addressed support for displaced populations through the National Disaster Management Committee’s emergency funds, distribution of donations to affected regions and task-specific action plans.
