When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was U Hla Aye (61 years old), a resident of the village. While he was returning home on his motorcycle from Pyay Town, two so-called PDF terrorists, who were waiting for him, opened fire at a location approximately one mile west of Kyu Wut Village. As a result, the victim died on the spot, it is reported.

In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 3 February 2025 at 9:45 AM, a report stated that three men were shot dead near Phaung Ka Taw Village in Thayet Township of Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were a sub-village administrator U Htay Aung (53 years old), U Than Myint (65 years old), both residents of Chin Kone Village in Thayet Township and U Than Zaw (42 years old), a resident of Phaung Ka Taw village. While the victims were their respective houses, 12 so-called PDF terrorists arriving by six motorcycles and abducted them. The terrorists then took them to a public rest house located on the outskirts of Phaung Ka Taw Village, where they shoot them. As a result, all three victims died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, at 6:30 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead near Kyu Wut Village in Paukkhaung Township of Bago Region.
