As a result, he sustained shrapnel injuries and was transported to Myeik District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.

France to deploy nuclear-armed planes to German border

France will upgrade one of its main air bases along its border with Germany to host Rafale fighter planes armed with nuclear cruise missiles, President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday. 

The Luxeuil-Saint-Sauveur base in eastern France hosted nuclear weapons until 2011, when the planes were relocated to a different site. 

 “The Luxeuil air base is about to be upgraded in an unprecedented way and regain its full role in France’s nuclear deterrent,” Macron said.

In Shwedaung Township, Bago Region, an explosion occurred while a male terrorist was transporting improvised explosive devices for an intended act of terrorism, resulting in his arrest after sustaining injuries.

 The incident took place on 18 March 2025 at 8:50 PM, in Kyar Ni Kan Ward, Shwedaung Township of Bago Region. Security personnel went to the scene and to investigate the explosion. According to the investigation, it was found that U Than Htike (52 years old), a resident of Yon Tan Ward in Shwedaung Township, was transporting improvised explosive devices on a sidecar motorcycle for a planned terrorist bombing. While travelling along Ti Kone Ywar Thit Road in Kyar Ni Kan Ward, an accidental explosion occurred. As a result, Than Htike sustained injuries from the blast. Security personnel also discovered an unexploded improvised explosive device near the site of the explosion. The injured U Than Htike was transported to Shwedaung Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are taking necessary measures as per security procedures and will take legal action against Than Htike as per the law. They continue to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
