In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities. Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 23 June 2025 at 00:20 AM, three members of the people’s militia, U Shwe Nu Aung (75 years old), U Win Kyine (45 years old) and U Ye Ne (55 years old), all residents of Aye Thu Kha Village in Daik-U Township of Bago Region, were attacked while they were at the Village Administrator’s Office. In the incident, approximately 20 armed so-called PDF terrorists approached from the side of Baw Ni Village. The terrorists stabbed U Shwe Nu Aung to death and pushed U Ye Ne into a drainage ditch in front of the office. They also abducted U Win Kyine and took him toward Baw Ni Village. In response, a combined team of security personnel pursued the terrorists along their route. When they reached an area near milepost 57/1 on the Yangon–Mandalay Expressway, near Ma Au Tan Village, they discovered the body of U Win Kyine. He had died from stab wounds, it is reported.
