Two Innocent Civilians Injured in Heavy Weapon Attacks by Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) Terrorist Group in Naungcho Township of Northern Shan State

Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and spread fear. They are also indiscriminately planting landmines on public roads, targeting government offices with explosives and engaging in destructive acts without regard for reason or morality.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 1 August 2025 at 10:30 AM, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries was admitted to the Pyin Oo Lwin Township Public Hospital of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as Daw Cho Thin (32 years old), a resident of Ma Lwut Village in Naungcho Township of Northern Shan State. The incident had occurred at 7:00 AM, on the same day while the victim was at her house, a heavy weapon shell, reportedly fired by Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) terrorist group, exploded on the road in front of her house. As a result, the victim sustained shrapnel injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 9:30 PM, on the same day, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to the Pyin Oo Lwin Township Public Hospital of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Kyin Thein (54 years old), a resident of Naung Lin Village in Naungcho Township of Northern Shan State. The incident had occurred at 7:30 AM, on the same day while the victim was herding cows and buffalos in his upland field near the village, a heavy weapon shell, reportedly fired by Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) terrorist group, exploded nearby. As a result, the victim sustained shrapnel injuries, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.
