Terrorist groups have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs, and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities-including abducting and extorting money from local civilians, as well as killings.

Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 8 August 2025 at 4:30 PM, when U Myint Zaw, 52 (years old) a resident of Taung Zun Village in Thaton State, was at his house, six individuals of pro-terrorism KNU members and so-called PDF terrorists arriving by a car. They told him they wanted “to ask some questions” and then abducted him, handcuffing his hands behind his back. Additionally, the terrorists took three mobile phones from his house and took him toward Aung Sai Village, it is reported.

Regarding the above incident, security personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
