Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and spread fear. They are also indiscriminately planting landmines on public roads, targeting government offices with explosives, and engaging in destructive acts without regard for reason or morality.

 Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 31 July 2025 at 6:30 PM, a combined group of KIA armed insurgents, along with so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons into Shwegu Town in Kachin State. One of the shells exploded in front of the “Thein Kabar” scrap metal sell and buy shop located in No.1 Ward, Shwegu Town. As a result of the explosion, two students from the Basic Education Middle School in Khon Khan Village, Mg Myo Thawdar Aung (12 years old) and Mg Lin Ya Wai Aung, (eight years old), as well as U Aung Kyaw Oo (49 years old), all residents of No.1 Ward, died on the spot. Additionally, six other residents of the ward sustained shrapnel injuries, Mg Paing Khant Ko Ko (13 years old), U Soe Naing Oo (41 years old), Daw Khin Mar Lwin (62 years old), Daw Win Thandar (26 years old), Mg Wai Yan Mon (15 years old) and Daw Khin Myint (aka) Khin Oo (53 years old). All individuals were near the site of the explosion at the time. The injured were transported to Shwegu Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
