In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to in still fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 15 February 2025 at 10:45 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead and two others were injured by gunfire in No. 3 Ward, Pakokku Township of Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that U Aung Khine Oo (40 years old), a resident of No.4 Ward in Pakokku Township, Mg Phoe Khwar (14 year old) and Mg Kyaw Moe (six years old), both resident of No.3 Ward, were assisting in the construction of a pavilion for a novitiation ceremony in No.3 Ward. At that time, five so-called PDF terrorists arriving by three motorcycles and opened fire on them. As a result, Mg Phoe Khwar died on the spot, while U Aung Khine Oo and Mg Kyaw Moe sustained gunshot injuries. The deceased and injured individuals were transported to Pakokku District Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported. 
Similarly, at 4:15 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Za Yit Myaung Village, Minhla Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that Village Administrator U Than Htway (62 years old), a resident of the village, was at his house when three so-called PDF terrorists arriving by motorcycle and opened fire on him. As a result, he died on the spot, it is reported. 
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of administrative official and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.

Drugs valued at over K280 million were seized in Tachilek Township of Shan State, as reported by the Myanmar Police Force.Acting on a tip-off, a combined team, including members of the Anti-Drug Police Force, conducted a search of a rental department in Tachilek Township at 6 pm on 8 April. They arrested Nyi Lauk Si with 1,200 stimulant tablets and 10 grammes of low-grade opium while police arrested Sai Kat at room No 17 of this rental department with 24 grammes of Ketamine, 35 grammes of Happy Water, 200 stimulant tablets and 250 grammes of low-grade opium.According to the investigation, police arrested Si Thu Phyo in room 5 of same rental department with 400,000 stimulant tablets and a Honda CRV.Legal proceedings have been conducted against the offenders, and an ongoing investigation is underway to apprehend others involved in the case. — MNA/MKKSSource: Global New Light of Myanmar

Colombo: The Sri Lankan navy has seized over 700 kilograms of heroin and crystal methamphetamine, marking the largest narcotics bust in the history of the country's security forces, said the navy on Saturday. Navy Media Director Buddhika Sampath told media that the estimated street value of the seized drugs exceeds 10 billion Sri Lankan rupees (approximately 34 million U.S. dollars). The drugs were confiscated during a joint operation carried out by the navy and the Police Narcotics Bureau, Sampath said, adding that a multi-day fishing vessel used to transport the drugs was also seized along with seven suspects, he said. According to Sampath, the drugs were packed in 51 bags, containing 500 packets of crystal meth and 178 packets of heroin. The seizure took place in the waters off Sri Lanka's western coast. Before leaving Myanmar, Mohamad also received a situational briefing from the AHA Centre representative in Nay Pyi Taw, who confirmed that the humanitarian operation has now shifted from the search and rescue phase to the recovery phase.
