A Monk and Innocent Civilians Injured in Heavy Weapon, Improvised Mortar and Drone Bomb Attacks on Villages by Terrorists

Insurgents committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 19 February 2025 at 8:45 AM, when a so-called PDF terrorist faction fired improvised mortars and dropped bombs into Ngwe Twin Village in Ayartaw Township of Sagaing Region. The improvised mortar shells and bombs exploded within the village, injuring several residents. Among the injured were an abbot of the Shwe Thein Taw Monastery, Taw Ba Na (73 years old) monk with 15 years of monkhood, U Kyi Phwar (58 years old), Mg Shine Wanna Htun (four years old), Ma Hnin Wai (22 years old) and Ma Khine Zin Win (23 years old). They sustained shrapnel wounds from the explosions and are currently receiving medical treatment at the village's rural clinic, it is reported.

Similarly, at 3:15 PM, a report stated that a man and woman with shrapnel injuries were admitted to Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were U Shan Po (52 years old) and his elder sister, Daw Shwe Sint (67 years old), both residents of Myay Net Village in Ayartaw Township of Sagaing Region. The incident occurred that when a so-called PDF terrorist faction fired heavy weapons into the victims’ village. The heavy weapon shells exploded within the village, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, at 3:15 PM, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims was Ma Zin Zin Thant Win (28 years old), a resident of Myauk Kone Village in Myingyan Township. The incident occurred that when a so-called PDF terrorist faction fired heavy weapons into the victim’s village. The heavy weapon shells exploded within the village, resulting in her injuries, it is reported.
 Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians and monks are injured or killed. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
