The government has been actively collaborating with international partners to effectively crack down on illegal activities, including online gambling, online scams, and other criminal offenses.

Particularly, foreign nationals who have illegally entered and resided in border areas, engaging in online gambling and online scam operations, are being investigated, identified, and systematically deported to their respective countries in accordance with legal procedures.

In the ongoing investigations, today, an additional 200 foreign nationals were detained. These individuals had illegally entered Myanmar through border routes, transiting through neighboring countries, and were involved in illegal online gambling and online scams in areas such as Myawady, Shwe Kokko, KK Park, and Mehtaw Thalay in Kayin State. Authorities are now collecting necessary personal information and records to facilitate their swift repatriation to their respective countries, with interdepartmental teams working around the clock to complete the process.

During the operations, Kayin State Government’s Minister for Security and Border Affairs, Colonel Min Thu Kyaw, and other officials inspected the detention facilities where the foreign nationals are being held. They reviewed the personal details and records of the newly detained individuals and coordinated necessary measures for their repatriation.

From January 30 to February 26, 2025, a total of 2,738 foreign nationals who illegally entered Myanmar have been identified Additional 200 foreign nationals illegally entering the country detained. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities. Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 16 June 2025 at 2:30 AM, U Thein Min Lat (34 years old) and Ma Chaw Su Aung (20 years old), both residents of Don Za Yit (West) Village in Nyaunglebin Township of Bago Region, were at their respective houses when a group of pro-terrorism KNU members along with so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on them. As a result, Ma Chaw Su Aung died on the spot, while U Thein Min Lat sustained gunshot wounds. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Kyaw Lin Htike (aka) Kyaw Lin (42 years old), a resident of No. 1 Ward in Ngazun Township. The incident occurred while he was heading to the hemp plantation. When he approached the plantation, he was fired upon by a terrorist group, accusing him of being an “informant or decoy”. As a result, U Kyaw Lin Htike (aka) Kyaw Lin died on the spot, it is reported. Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.MOHA

17 June 2025In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses. Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 June 2025  at 5:00 PM, a report stated that a man and three women with shrapnel injuries were admitted to the Shwegyin Township Public Hospital of Bago Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victims were identified as U Min Naing Oo (32 years old) and his wife Daw Toe Toe Lwin (36 years old), both residents of Chay Taw Yar Village, along with Ma Khine Lwin Oo (17 years old), a resident of Inn Ga Ni Village and Ma Thin Yati Htway (three years old), a resident of Kant Ni Village. The incident occurred on the same day at 4:10 PM, while an explosive device planted by a group of pro-terrorism KNU members, along with so-called PDF terrorists, exploded at a junction between Tha Yat Chaung Village and Kyaik Pon Seik Village in Shwegyin Township. The victims were passing through the a area at the time of the explosion, causing their injuries, it is reported. It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.MOHA
