Civil Servants, Administrative Officials and Innocent Civilians Recklessly Assassinated by So-called PDF Terrorists
In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 24 February 2025 at 9:20 AM, the Hmaw Inn Village Tract Administrator U Than Oo (58 years old), a resident of Ka Nyin Tan Village, Latpadan Township of Bago Region, was travelling on his motorcycle from his village to Latpadan Town. When he arrived at the Latpadan-Hmaw Inn intersection, two so-called PDF terrorists, riding a motorcycle from opposite direction, opened fire on him. As a result, U Than Oo died on the spot. Additionally, the terrorists took his Honda Click 125 motorcycle, it is reported.
Similarly, at 4:05 PM, a report stated that a man and woman were shot dead in Kan Gyi Village, Gyobingauk Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that Village Administrator U Kan Myint (67 years old) and his wife, Daw Khin Win Thu (42 years old), both residents of the village, were at their house when two so-called PDF terrorists arriving by motorcycle and opened fire on them. As a result, they died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, on 25 February at 6:30 AM, a report stated that two men were shot dead in Nyaung Lay Pin Village, Nattalin Township of Bago Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that U Nay Win (56 years old) and U Tin Shein (aka) U Mal Nyo (56 years old), both residents of the village, were having a conversation of U Nay Win’s yard when 10 so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on them. As a result, both men died on the spot, it is reported.
Similarly, on the same day at 6:30 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead and a woman was gunshot injuries near Si Thar Gyi Village, Taungwingyi Township of Magway Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was discovered that U Zaw Myint Oo (aka) Nan Nan (38 years old), a ward/ village clerk and his mother, Daw Ma Kyine (63 years old), were travelling on a bullock cart to a farm near their village. When they reached an area approximately four furlongs east of their village, two so-called PDF terrorists who had been wainting for them, opened fire and then fled. As a result, U Myint Zaw Oo (aka) Nan Nan died on the spot, while Daw Ma Kyine sustained gunshot injuries. The deceased and the injured were transported to Taungwingyi Township Public Hospital for examinitaion and medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the aforementioned cases, it is reported.
