  • One Innocent Civilian Killed, Another Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack by TNLA Insurgent Group in Nyaungcho Township of Northern Shan State

Terrorists committing inhumane acts have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the residential areas, including towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 27 May 2025 at 2:00 PM, Daw Myat Mon Aye (29 years old) and her daughter Ma Thal Wai (nine month old), both residents of Si Sone Village in Nyaungcho Township of Northern Shan State, were returning to their village from Inn Wyne Village after receiving vaccinations. They were riding a motorcycle driven by Ma May Tha Zin Soe (currently under investigation). When they reached an area between Ohn Ma Thee Village and Shwe Nyaung Pin Village, a heavy weapon shell fired by TNLA insurgent group exploded nearby. As a result, Ma May Tha Zin Soe died on the spot and Daw Myat Mon Aye sustained shrapnel injuries. Fortunately, Ma Thal Wai was unharmed. The injured woman was transported to Pyin Oo Lwin District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians have been injured or killed. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
