Innocent Civilian Injured After Stepping on Explosive Device Planted by Terrorist Group in Hpa-An Township of Kayin State

In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 20 June 2025 at 4:00 PM, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to the Hpa-An Township Public Hospital in Kayin State. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was identified as U Hla Tun (50 years old), a resident of No.4 Ward in Kama Maung Town of Pharpon Township. The victim had accidentally stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by a terrorist group while collecting bamboo shoots in a forest near Htee Nya Char Village in Hpa-An Township. As a result, he sustained severe injuries that led to amputation his left leg, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
