A combined team including members of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, acting on a tip, intercepted a NISSAN DIESEL 6-wheel vehicle near Taung Taw Village, on the inter-District road connecting Kyaukse and Meiktila Districts at 3:00 PM, on June 22.

The vehicle, driven by Than Aung Soe (aka Myauk Gyi) and accompanied by Paing Khant, was traveling from Mong Ral, Shan State (North), to Mandalay. Upon inspection, authorities seized 148.797 kg of heroin from the vehicle.

Further investigation led to the apprehension of Nan Thiri Aung, Han Htun Naing (aka Sai Kyaw Mein), and Saw Yan Naing on June 26, at 1:00 PM, on the Pinlong-Lai Char road in Loilem Township. They were arrested in connection with arranging the transport of the seized heroin from Mong Ral to Mandalay. Among the three, Han Htun Naing (aka Sai Kyaw Mein) was a wanted fugitive in connection with previous drug cases.

Based on further revelations from the investigation, on June 29, at 12:30 PM, Phone Myint Kyaw (aka U Tee Pwar) and Zaw Zaw Naung (aka Ko Naung), who were involved in transporting the drugs, were further arrested at a house in Hlae Yoe Ward, Aungpan Township. Phone Myint Kyaw (aka U Tee Pwar) was also a wanted fugitive for drug-related offenses.

According to information from the Myanmar Police Force, the investigation revealed that Aung Phyo Thu from Kone Thar Village, Hsipaw Township, and Sai Saw from Mong Ral Township were the individuals who transferred the drugs. Legal action has been taken against them, and efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in this criminal network.

Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities-including abducting and extorting money from local civilians, as well as killings.Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 8 August 2025 at 4:30 PM, when U Myint Zaw, 52 (years old) a resident of Taung Zun Village in Thaton State, was at his house, six individuals of pro-terrorism KNU members and so-called PDF terrorists arriving by a car. They told him they wanted “to ask some questions” and then abducted him, handcuffing his hands behind his back. 10 August 2025In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 8 August 2025 at 10:00 AM, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to the Township Public Hospital in Sidoktaya Township of Magway Region. When security personnel arrived at the Hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Kyi Soe, (60 years old) a resident of Ma Kyi Su Village in Sidoktaya Township. The incident occurred around 9:00 AM on the same day, when the victim stepped on an explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group while heading to a forest located approximately two miles southeast of his village for fishing. The explosion resulted in his left leg being amputated below the knee, it is reported.It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law. MOHA

Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, efforts to combat the illicit trade are continued effectively by the law.On 7 and 8 August, the combined teams impounded industrial materials valued at K121.92 million without official documents from a container at the Thilawa Port, industrial materials valued at K10.29 million without official documents at the warehouse of Yangon International Airport, a Scania bus and a Dongfeng tractor head with a trailer (approximately K127 million), heading to Monywa from Yangon and to Mandalay from Kyinsankyawt border, carrying industrial materials and consumer goods without official documents at the Myitnge checkpoint. The action was conducted as per Customs procedures.On 8 August, the combined on-duty teams seized a Hino truck (approximately K15 million) carrying consumer goods and foodstuffs worth K30.544 million without official documents in Mawlamyine Township, a Nissan UD truck (approximately K50 million), travelling from Chinshwehaw to Lashio, carrying industrial materials worth K49.339 million without official documents at the Yepu junction combined checkpoint in Lashio Township. The action was conducted under Customs procedures and the related laws.On 7 August, under the management of the Kayin State Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force, a combined inspection team seized consumer goods worth K139.74 million without official documents, carried on two Nissan Diesel trucks worth K70 million, near Thayakon Village in Hpa-an Township, totalling K209.74 million. Action is being taken under the Customs procedures.On 9 August, under the management of the Bago Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force, a combined team seized industrial materials and consumer goods worth K15.87 million without documents, carried on a Hino Dutro light truck worth K35 million at the Nyaungkhashay permanent checkpoint under the Customs procedures, and illegal teak weighing 0.859 tonne and other illegal timbers weighing 3.122 tonnes worth K1.23 million in Bago, Toungoo and Pyay districts under the Forest Law, totalling K52.11 million.On the same day, according to the records of the Myanmar Police Force of the Ministry of Home Affairs, 17 unregistered vehicles and 60 unregistered motorcycles were seized and action is being taken under the relevant laws.From 7 to 9 August, a total of 36 cases with an estimated value of K1,909.90 million were seized. — MNA/MKKS/KZL
