  • Archaeologists release images of a 3,800-year-old city in Peru

Archeologists release images as a result of eight years of research in Penico, called the "City of Social Integration" of the populations of the Supe Valley (1800-1500 B.C.), located in the province of Huaura, Lima region. The 3.800 year-old archaeological site of Penico was an urban center that fostered social integration between the coast and the highlands, even goods from the jungle reached this site. 

Research carried out by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture has identified 18 constructions, including buildings and residential complexes. Researchers believe that it was built at the same time as the first civilizations in the Middle East and Asia.

Cambodian Memorial Sites have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, bringing the country's tangible heritage properties on the prestigious list to five, said a statement from the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts released Friday midnight.The inscription was made on Friday during the World Heritage Committee's 47th session in Paris, France, the statement said.  The inscribed Cambodian Memorial Sites included the former M-13 prison, located between Kampong Chhnang and Kampong Speu provinces, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and Choeung Ek Genocidal Center, both in the capital Phnom Penh, the statement said.Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said the inscription of "Cambodian Memorial Sites" not only honors the physical sites, but also recognizes Cambodia's painful history."mitv

A 1,500-year-old mosaic was found in the Turkish ancient city of Dara in Mardin during the archeological excavations.
