JK Sofia, the newly crowned Miss Grand Myanmar 2025, will represent Myanmar at the Miss Grand International 2025 pageant, scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand.
The national competition to select Myanmar’s representative was held on 21 June at the Shwe Htut Tin compound in Tamway Township, Yangon. JK Sofia, representing Namhkam, emerged as the winner among 27 contestants from across the country.

The national competition to select Myanmar’s representative was held on 21 June at the Shwe Htut Tin compound in Tamway Township, Yangon. JK Sofia, representing Namhkam, emerged as the winner among 27 contestants from across the country.
Speaking after receiving the crown, JK Sofia said, “I was overwhelmed with excitement when I won. All my hopes have come true. The year 2025 will be truly special for me. I will be training hard, focusing on fitness, and working to achieve excellence in body, beauty, and brain. Please support me when I represent Myanmar abroad.”
Several other awards were presented at the event. Ahtingaya Po Po, representing East Yangon, won the Best Evening Gown Award, while May Thazin Oo from Mandalay was named Super Model of the Grand. Hkawng Tsai from Waingmaw received the Face of the Grand award, and the Rising Star Award went to Thinzar Toe Win from Taunggyi. Lashi Aung Bu was honoured with the Real Beauty by LV Clinic award.
As for the final results of the Miss Grand Myanmar 2025 competition, JK Sofia from Namhkam was crowned the winner. Amit Shah said, every time during the rainy season, Naxalites used to take rest, as swollen rivers hamper anti-Naxal operations inside dense forest, but this time, the government will not let them sleep during monsoon and will move further to achieve the target of eliminating naxalism by 2026. He further called upon the Naxalites to lay down arms and “join the journey of development”.

As of June 22nd, the extremely powerful earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28 has resulted in 3,758 deaths, 5,104 injuries, and 48 missing persons across the six regions and states severely affected.

As of June 22nd, the extremely powerful earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28 has resulted in 3,758 deaths, 5,104 injuries, and 48 missing persons across the six regions and states severely affected.

The Myanmar Fire Services Department and local and international search and rescue teams have been carrying out timely search and rescue operations in the affected areas. So far, they have successfully rescued 653 survivors and recovered 836 bodies from collapsed buildings. Further updates will be provided regarding cash and in-kind donations from both local and international well-wishers for the affected people.
