Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on Thursday met with South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile in Beijing.
Han said this opened a new chapter in building a high-level community with a shared future between the two countries. Those who come back receive support such as financial incentives and assistance. Some armed ethnic groups and PDF members, after seeing their violent actions causing harm to civilians and losing public support, are now willing to lay down arms and cooperate under the law.

Among these applicants, the Peace and Development Party and the New Generation Wunthanu Party were found to comply with the Political Parties Registration Law and by-laws. Consequently, the Commission approved their applications for party establishment on July 16.

Similarly, the application from the Lishaw National Party was also rejected, as it did not comply with the provisions of Section 6 of the Political Parties Registration Law, as per the assessments from relevant ministries. Both rejections were issued, on 16th July, using Form (C) of the Political Parties Registration Bylaws. As of July 16, 21 political parties have been granted permission to establish, while 5 political parties have had their applications rejected.
