The search and rescue operation by police forces, civil rescuers and boat drivers began at around 10:30 am when it became calm, and people are still awaiting confirmation of the number of missing people.
On July 24, at 8:17 am, a tree fell, blocking a street in Dala’s Ward 3, and one fire engine with permanent and reserved firefighters was dispatched to the area to clear the blockade, according to the Department of Fire Services.
There are 21 ferry terminals in Dala, and hundreds of people are crossing into and out of Yangon daily. Ferry sinking happens every year during the monsoon season, causing some casualties, according to reports.

The meeting discussed the work implementation on electricity and energy and future plans as well as the feasibility studies for generation of electricity and exploration of oil and natural gas plots, implementation for renewable energy and sustainable development of electricity and energy sector.
The meeting also gave suggestions on the National Electricity Master Plan 2014 (JICA) and Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) 2021 in order to designate the Generation Mix.

He emphasized that the attending departmental officials should carefully listen to and understand the explanation of the questionnaire forms and be able to engage in further discussion. Only through proper understanding can timely and accurate initial damage and loss data be collected when a natural disaster occurs, which in turn will support the recovery and reconstruction efforts.
Following the speech, the Chief Minister and officials cordially met and greeted the trainees.
Next, the State Focal Point from the Central Statistical Organization and Secretary of the Preliminary Needs Assessment, Damage and Loss Verification, and Requirement Analysis Committee for Rakhine State, Daw Swe Swe Toe, gave a detailed explanation on the components of the data collection forms, along with the respective responsibilities of the relevant departments.
