In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 30 May 2025 at 10:40 AM, a report stated that two men with gunshot wounds were admitted to Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that the victims were identified as Ko Kyal Sin Tun (21 years old) and his younger brother, Mg Kaung Min Khant (17 years old), both residents of Nyaung Kone Village in Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region. The incident occurred while they were at their house when a so-called PDF terrorist group arrived and opened fire on them, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.

Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.

In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices, and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 27 May 2025 at 3:00 PM, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to No. 5 Field Military Medical Sub-Unit (2) in Hlaing Kwal Village, Kawkareik Township, Kayin State. When security personnel arrived at the unit for further investigation, they discovered that U Soe Aung (61 years old), a member of the Public Security and Counter-terrorism group and a resident of Hlaing Wa Village in Kawkareik Township. He had stepped on stepped on an explosive device planted by a terrorist group while cutting woods in a forest near Hlaing Kwal Village. The device exploded, resulting in his injuries, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.

Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 29 May 2025 at 1:30 PM, a group of KIA insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons into Ma Dein Village in Waingmaw Township of Kachin State. As a result, houses of U San Naing (56 years old), Daw Nyo Yi (71 years old) and U Nyo Win (60 years old), were damaged by the blasts. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent people have been injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.

When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, they identified the victims as U Myint Oo (66 years old) and U Pha Su (78 years old), both residents of Ga Gyi Ward in Launglon Town. The incident occurred when a so-called PDF terrorist group fired heavy weapons into the victim’s ward, causing their injuries, it is reported.

When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was identified as U Zaw Oo (35 years old), a resident of the village. The incident occurred while he was at his house, when four so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, U Zaw Oo died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.

When security personnel arrived at the Hospital for further investigation, they discovered that the victim identified as U Aung Phyo Min (39 years old), a resident of Lake Chin Village in Shwebo Township. The incident occurred while he was on his way to a field approximately one mile north of his village. He stepped on an explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group, which then exploded, resulting in his injuries, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.

Statement on Temporary Ceasefire

(5th Waxing of Nayon, 1387ME)

31st May 2025

1.     The Tatmadaw has already declared a temporary cessation of military operations during the period from 6th to 31st May 2025 with the aim of facilitating swift humanitarian and reconstruction operations in the areas affected by the powerful Mandalay earthquake.

2.     Currently, the State is intensively engaging in reconstruction of damaged government offices and departments, public residences and transport facilities and rehabilitation undertakings in the earthquake-affected areas, while the international community is rendering a helping hand.

3.     In addition, preparations are in progress to hold a free and fair multi-party democracy general election as per the Constitution without fail this year. Region-wise peace and stability is a requisite on the polling day for all the eligible voters in the entire country to cast votes.

4.     In this regard, the Tatmadaw extends the temporary ceasefire period from 1st to 30th June 2025 in order to facilitate rehabilitation and reconstruction activities in earthquake-affected areas, to hold a free and fair multi-party democracy general election successfully, to serve the interest of the entire nation and people with greater acceleration, to achieve genuine and long-lasting peace and in view of peace and stability.

5.     During this period, all ethnic armed organizations and other armed groups are warned against disrupting and destroying public transportation and communication routes, endangering civilian lives and property, attacking security forces’ bases that are enforcing the rule of law or military command headquarters and mobilizing or regrouping troops and expanding territories that may undermine peace. Any violation will prompt necessary defensive measures by the Tatmadaw to protect the people.

This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 25 May 2025 at 7:30 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Aye Hla Yoe Village, Ngazun Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was identified as U Hoke Sein (55 years old), 100-household elder and resident of the village. The incident occurred while he was at his house, approximately 10 so-called PDF terrorists arriving by a light truck and opened fire on him. As a result, U Hoke Sein died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killing of administrative official in the aforementioned case, it is reported.

Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 25 May 2025 at 5:05 PM, a report stated that a child with shrapnel injuries was admitted to the Dawei Township Public Hospital of Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was identified as Mg Aung Min Htway (10 years old) and resident of Kan Pauk Village in Yebyu Township. The incident occurred when he stepped on an explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group while collecting mushrooms in a forest approximately one and a half miles northwest of his village. The device exploded, causing his injuries, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.

Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 25 May 2025 at 12:30 PM, U Tin Soe (53 years old) and his sister in law, Daw Mya Khine (50 years old), both residents of Paung Sabar Village in Paukkhaung Township of Bago Region, were returning to their village from Sai Pyit Inn Village. Upon reaching their village, a so-called PDF terrorist group appeared and opened fire on them. As a result, Daw Mya Khine died on the spot, while U Tin Soe sustained gunshot wounds. He was transported to Paukkhaung Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
