The key transportation route connecting Loikaw, Moebye, Pekhon and Pinlaung, which had been under the control of KNPP, KNDF, and allied PDF forces, was reopened. After launching counter-terrorism operations, Tatmadaw announced it had retaken Moebye town on July 6.
Following intense clashes between July 7–11, security forces cleared the remaining 4.5 km stretch of road, including the villages of Warikawku and Hsaungkhan (Kayah) which had been blocking access. During the operations, 3 insurgents were killed, and 15 small weapons and communication gear were seized.
Also, some military personnel were killed or injured. With the road now secure, local civilians can resume travel, and commodities can flow more easily into Loikaw. Authorities expect this will ease shortages, lower prices, and bring relief to conflict-affected communities in the region. The government also commended military officers and Tatmadawmen for their efforts in restoring access and stability.
