When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, they found a Vigo Double Cab (License Plate No. YGN-44/ 5S-XXXX) driven by U Hein Min Phyo (36 years old), accompanied by U Nyan Phyo Lin (45 years old), a District officer from the Thayat District Road Department and Daw Phyo Sandar Myo (44 years old), an accountant level-3. The vehicle was travelling from Thayat Town to Magway Town along the Thayat - Minhla - Magway road. When the vehicle arrived at an area between Lat Khot Pin Village and Myauk Myar Kone Village, a so-called PDF terrorist group opened fire on the vehicle. As a result, U Hein Min Phyo sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Lin Kal Station Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, it is reported.

They forcibly abducted the following individuals who were at the camp: U Tin Ohn Kyaw (57 years old), Assistant Director of the Forest Department; U Kyaw Naing Oo (39 years old), a Junior Officer in Charge of Forest Conservation; U Ye Lin Htet (26 years old), a Forest Ranger; U Lwin Oo (51 years old), a Grade-4 Truck Driver and U Wai Lin Tun. The terrorists forcibly took U Tin Oo Kyaw’s Mitsubishi vehicle (License Plate No. MDY-5/4H-XXXX) to transport them, it is reported.
